🐑 Peppermint Patty’s Quiet Bravery—An Update from Tuff’s Animal Rescue

At Tuff’s Animal Rescue, every life we welcome carries a story of courage. 

Peppermint Patty, a special-needs Babydoll Southdown ewe, arrived with one gentle eye and fragile steps on three legs—but her impact has been anything but quiet.

Patty has become more than a rescue. She’s a symbol of inclusion, adaptability, and hope—for the herd and for every child who sees a bit of themselves in her steady resilience.

📚 Now, Patty’s story is leaping off the pasture and onto the page. Her debut children’s book introduces little readers to themes of acceptance, perseverance, and the magic of kindness—helping families explore big feelings in a gentle and joyful way. Coming this fall!

This season, her influence is also blossoming into accessible farm visits and sensory-friendly programming that help kids feel safe, seen, and strong.

🎉 We’re also celebrating Haley and Hazel’s incredible success at fair—a testament to the love, work, and growth that happen when animals and humans uplift one another.

Hazel and her sister, Rae, came to Tuff's Animal Rescue in May. They are five year old miniature Nubians Goats. Haley began working with Hazel for 4-H Utility Goat. We're proud to say that no only did Hazel and Haley have a great time at the Arapahoe County Fair, but Haley's family adopted both Hazel and Rae!

We’re writing today to invite you to help expand this work. Now that the Fair season is coming to a close, our fundraising must kick in to care for the animals through the winter until the 4-H and FFA seasons begin again.
